Ayesha is a native of Charleston, South Carolina. She has a unique style of representation that garners her clients’ trust. She is committed, dedicated and understands that practicing law requires moral skill and practical wisdom.
Prior to starting her own firm, she was a Senior Associate with Pierce, Herns, Sloan & McLeod, LLC where she represented injured individuals and companies. During her 9 year tenure with Pierce Herns, she handled cases for Plaintiffs and Defendants involving catastrophic injuries resulting in permanent injuries and even death. Some of her clients included hundreds of chemical spill victims, injured railroad workers, and victims of grade crossing accidents and nursing home abuse and neglect.
Ayesha is a product of the primary schools of downtown Charleston including James Simons Elementary and Rivers Middle School. She is also a graduate of Clemson University, the University of South Carolina School of Law, and The Citadel. She currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Juris Doctor, and a Masters in Business Administration.
Ayesha was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2002, the United States District Court, District of South Carolina in 2005, and the United States Supreme Court in May of 2008. Ayesha’s current practice focuses on nursing home litigation, complex personal injury, injured railroad workers, train grade crossing collisions, trucking accidents, chemical spills, contracts, probate and estates, and slip and fall cases.
Ayesha is very active within her community. She served on: the Advisory Board for the non-profit organization It’s Up to Me! (a teen pregnancy prevention program) from 2005 to 2009, School’s Out Board from 2006 to 2009, and Carolina Empowerment Group Board (a HIV/AIDS awareness program) 2007 to 2011. She also currently serves on the South Carolina Women Lawyers Board.
She is a board member and mentor for the Young Ladies Conquering Obstacles, a teen enrichment program, chairperson of Metanoia Board of Directors, a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church, and Charleston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Anita has over seventeen (17) years of experience as a Legal Assistant.
Anita joined The Washington Law Firm, LLC in March of 2013. She manages the reception desk as well as handles Estate, Workers’ Compensation, and Probate matters for the firm. Anita is a licensed Notary Public for the State of South Carolina.
As the first point of contact, a role she takes very seriously, Anita has a unique ability to interact with clients, attorneys and court staff. Her warm and infectious disposition is essentially to making our clients feel comfortable in their time of need.
Anita has three children. Two of whom serve in the United States Army. In her spare time, Anita enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Especially her grandson, Jordan.
Vera joined the Washington Law Firm, LLC in November 2015 as a Legal Assistant. Vera handles personal injury and premises liability cases.
Vera works with diligence and persistence on behalf of our clients to yield successful results for our clients.
Vera recently received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Trident Technical College and is a licensed Notary Public of South Carolina. Vera is a member of Lex Artis, a paralegal organization.
Vera has three children, and two wonderful grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering with Positive Change [an outreach group for those with HIV or AIDS]. Vera also enjoys singing on the church choir.
